Exhibiting at the Show

Exhibiting at the show gives you the chance to meet existing owners and people who are seriously interested in joining the shared ownership community.

Many existing owners come to the show - mostly to help out on the boats on view. This year there should be more boats to see than ever before because self-managed boats will be taking part as well as those managed by the four management companies BCBM, Carefree Cruising J D Boat Services and Ownashare

Stands in the marquee

Stands in the marquee are about 3m wide x 2.5m deep and come with a trestle table and a couple of chairs. You can either use the table as the basis of your display or bring along your own panels and display boards, etc. A 13amp socket can be provided if you need an electricity supply.

The cost of a stand is £200 (no VAT). This is made up of £150 for the stand space plus £50 for a year's advertising on this site (boatshare4u.co.uk) - half the normal rate.

Outside exhibits

Freestanding marquees/gazebos or trailer exhibits are charged exactly the same as stands in the marquee, including the year's advertising on boatshare4u.co.uk. A 3m x 3m space is standard, but please just let us know if your exhibit is bigger than this, so that we can allow sufficient space on the site. A 13amp socket can be provided if you need an electricity supply.

Your half price advert

Advertisements are displayed at random on most pages of the site. All that we require is an image (jpg, png or .gif). The size is 100 pixels deep by 330 pixels wide with a resolution of 72 pixels per inch. Your advert will run from the time you book your stand to 31st March 2019.

How to book your stand

Just send an email to andrew@boatshare4u.co.uk to let us know you want a stand or outside space. We will send you an invoice. You can send your advert image with your original email or when you settle the invoice. If you haven't got an image, we can set up a simple advert for you.

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at Braunston on 21st & 22nd April 2018

Other requirements

Payment for stands must be made no later than a fortnight before the show. Payments are not refundable unless another exhibitor agrees to take your space. We will need a copy of your third party liability insurance before the show - an emailed copy is fine.

If you have any information that you think could be included on this site, please let Andrew know. You may know of another base that welcomes shared ownership boats, have experience of a boat handling trainer or have a picture that might make a good page heading.

Boatshare - the shared ownership of a narrowboat - is a cost effective way of enjoying a narrow boat holiday cruising the canals. For around the price of a week's narrowboat hire, you can own a share of a quality narrowboat and cruise for three or more weeks each year. Shared ownership means shared costs. If you own a twelfthshare in a narrowboat, then you pay only a twelfth of the cost of maintaining the narrowboat. Narrowboat boatshare has been growing in popularity for more than 20 years. There are now more than 200 shared ownership narrowboats on the English and Welsh canals. Buying a narrowboat boat share can cost from around £2,500 to £10,000 for a twelfth or 8% share. Boatshare is not timeshare. The boat is owned by a syndicate, and the syndicate has arrangements for choosing weeks on board the narrowboat. Narrowboats are sometimes incorrectly called barges. Canal cruising holidays are one of the best ways to slow down and relax, while enjoying the English and Welsh countryside and its wildlife as well as seeing a significant part of Britain's industrial heritage. Boatshare of a narrowboat means that you own a share of the boat and it is yours for as long as you wnat to keep it. You can offer your narrowboat share whenever you choose to do so. This site provides independent information about narrowboat boatshare and what is involved in shared ownership of a narrowboat. The site also provides links to sites that have narrowboat boatshare shares for sale.
